Former beauty queen and widow of late Nigerian warlord Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, Bianca Odinakachukwu Olivia Odumegwu-Ojukwu has sent her heartfelt congratulations to Chidimma Adetshina for her impressive achievements at the 2024 Miss Universe pageant.
Adetshina proudly represented Nigeria by becoming the first runner-up and earning the title of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, a historic moment that was widely celebrated social media.
In her emotional tribute, the 56-year-old mother of three applauded Chidimma for her perseverance, resilience, focus and determination.
Bianca expressed that, even though Chidimma did not claim the title of Miss Universe, her performance was magnificent and that she had overcome significant challenges to achieve this success.
She wrote: “A big Congratulations to our very own. Resilience, perseverance and true grit will always win the day. Kudos to Chidimma Adetshina who has done the nation proud. She may not have won the Pageant but this is our best outing and she beat this path against all odds. She has earned her laurels. There is no night so long that it isn’t followed by day. You go, girl!”
Bianca, who was crowned Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) in 1988. She is a multiple international pageant titleholder, having won not just Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, but also won Miss Africa, and Miss Intercontinental.
Formerly a presidential advisor,she was the country’s ambassador to Ghana and became Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain in 2012.
She currently holding the office of Minister of State Foreign Affairs, after being sworn-in on 4 November 2024.
After almost 17years in marriage her husband died in the United Kingdom after a brief illness at 78 in 2011. The couple had three children together namely: Chineme, Afamefuna, and Nwachukwu.
Bianca Odinakachukwu Ojukwu holds many traditional titles in her native land as well as the highest chieftaincy title conferred on women in her region.
