Media figure and critic Daniel Regha has expressed his disapproval of Florence Otedola popularly known as DJ Cuppy, following her recent social media post in which she referred to herself as “wife material.”
DJ Cuppy had shared an image of herself perched on a washing machine, elegantly dressed and made up in a post indicating that she was about doing her laundry. She made use of the opportunity to highlight her qualities as “hardworking and caring.”
Daniel Regha, recognized for his outspoken remarks, expressed that such actions do not necessarily substantiate the label of “wife material,” suggesting that her behavior may be perceived as performative.
He was not impressed by DJ Cuppy’s appearance, specifically her makeup and high heels, and conveyed his thoughts on his X page. He implied that she was not genuinely engaged in laundry duties and criticized her choice of sitting on the washing machine.
His comments sparked reactions on social media with some appreciating DJ Cuppy’s playful self-portrayal, while others concurred with Regha’s perspective.
He also said that she should turn on the washing machine next time before taking pictures so it would seem more believable.
He wrote: “Cuppy so u do laundry at home with full makeup glam & high heels? Next time try turning on the washing machine before taking pictures, so the l’e is a little sellable. It’s also wrong to sit on a washing machine, read the manual. Nice outfit by the way.” Despite criticizing her, he complimented her outfit.
DJ Cuppy is not just a Nigerian Disc Jockey, she is also a musician and a producer. In 2024, DJ Cuppy became the first British Nigerian to host an opening session at the United Nations General Assembly.
