Nigerian singer Joseph Akinwale popularly known as Joeboy has shared a message with his fans, advising them against allowing social media to shape their values and standards.
The singer in a recent post on X pointing out to his fans that social media often present an unrealistic and altered version of life, and encouraged them to be maintain their core values.
Joeboy highlighted how important it is for one not to compare their lives to the displayed images and stories seen on the internet as they may be deceiving.
The singer expressed that social media should not define one’s standards, as people often present a falsified lifestyle.
He said: “Better don’t let social media define your standards, people lie, a lot.”
Joeboy is signed to Warner Music Africa in partnership with his record label Young Legend. The singer was formerly signed by Mr Eazi under emPawa Africa, where he was discovered in 2017.
Mr Eazi’s assisted track ‘Fààjí’ was released on the 26th of October 2018, Joeboy used his portion of the grant he received from emPawa100 to shoot a video for the song.
Joeboy won Best Artiste in African Pop at the 2019 All Africa Music Awards, and Best Pop at the 2020 Soundcity MVP Awards Festival. Joeboy was also nominated for multiple City People Entertainment Awards and The Headies.
The singer released a hit single ‘Osadebe’ which had nationwide recognition on the 16th of February 2024.
