British Singer Elton John Loses Eyesight Over Eye Infection

British singer Sir Elton Hercules John, has shared a heart wrenching revelation on the loss of his eyesight after battling a severe infection.


The 77 year old made this known during a recent public appearance at the charity gala performance of The Devil Wears Prada: “The Musical,” which was staged at the London Dominion Theatre on Sunday.

Sir John Elton’s revelation stunned many at the gala performance, said he did not watch the show due to his problem he has with his eyesight.

He said: “As some of you may know, I have had issues, and now I have lost my sight. I have enjoyed listening to the performance, even though I haven’t been able to see it.”

The singer had told ABC News in the US last month that the infection had left him without sight in his right eye and that his left eye is not the greatest.

He stated: “My left eye is not the greatest…

I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye”.

Elton John is particularly for his work during the 1970s, his music and showmanship have had a significant, lasting impact on the music industry.

In 1962, the singer formed the blues band ‘Bluesology’ but left in 1967 and decided to start a solo career and met Taupin that same year. For two years, they wrote songs for other artists. John also worked as a session musician.

Elton John has had more than fifty top-40 hits on the UK Singles Chart and US Billboard Hot 100, including nine number ones in both countries, as well as seven consecutive number-one albums in the US.
