The President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has agreed to visit Nigeria later this year. This visit will strengthen the relationship and economic partnership between the two countries.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu invited the UAE leader during their meeting on Wednesday night at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental in Abu Dhabi. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025, a global event focusing on sustainable development and climate action.

President Tinubu, who arrived in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, actively participated in the forum and presented Nigeria’s views on important issues like climate change, water security, and energy transition. He praised the UAE for hosting a successful event.

During their discussion, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan thanked President Tinubu for his visit and expressed the UAE’s readiness to deepen economic ties with Nigeria. Both leaders discussed ways to boost investment in Nigeria, with President Tinubu highlighting the progress of his government’s economic reforms.

“Our economic reforms are stabilizing and growing the economy. Foreign investors and international oil companies are showing renewed confidence, with billion-dollar investments. Nigeria is open and ready for more partnerships with the UAE,” President Tinubu said.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed agreed, stressing the UAE’s commitment to stronger collaboration in various sectors.

President Tinubu’s delegation included Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar, Finance Minister Wale Edun, and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu. The UAE team included Foreign Affairs Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other top officials.

President Tinubu thanked the UAE leader for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to him and his team during their visit.
