Tensions in the Middle East have escalated dramatically as Israel braces for a potential ground invasion of Gaza. In response, Iran has issued a stern warning, demanding an immediate halt to aggressions against Palestinians.

The Iranian Foreign Minister singled out the United States for its staunch support of Israel since the recent devastating Hamas attack, which claimed the lives of over 1,400 Israelis.

“If the Zionist aggressions do not stop, the hands of all parties in the region are on the trigger,”

Iranian foreign minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said, as quoted by news agency Reuters.

The relentless Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have led to a staggering death toll, with more than 2,670 people, including over 700 children, losing their lives. Israel’s cutoff of essential services such as water, electricity, and food to the densely populated coastal enclave has triggered widespread concern. However, there was a recent development as water was restored to the southern region yesterday.

“No one can guarantee the control of the situation and the non-expansion of the conflicts,” Amirabdollahian said, according to an Iranian foreign ministry statement. “Those who are interested in preventing the scope of war and crisis from expanding, need to prevent the current barbaric attacks… against citizens and civilians in Gaza.”

Amidst the growing turmoil, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan has expressed apprehension in Washington about the potential for the conflict to further escalate. Of particular concern is the prospect of Iran, a historical adversary of Israel and a supporter of Hamas, directly involving itself in the ongoing crisis.

Global Protests and Prayers Amid Escalating Palestinian-Israeli Conflict

Adding to the complexity of the situation, Israel has dispatched troops and tanks to its northern border with Lebanon, an area patrolled by the United Nations. Additionally, a four-kilometer wide stretch has been sealed off from civilians after deadly exchanges of fire across the border involving the Iran-backed Hezbollah group.
