Daniel Okafor, the son of actor John Okafor, widely known as Mr. Ibu has denied the accusations made by his father’s wife, Stella Maris. She had alleged that Mr. Ibu’s adopted daughter, Jasmine, took control of his bank account.
Stella, in a series of Instagram posts on Sunday night, asserted that Jasmine took over the bank account where generous donations from concerned Nigerians were intended for the ailing actor.
She also dismissed the reports alleging that she wanted the donations to buy a luxury car for herself, stressing that her step-daughter was only spreading a malicious lie as a tool to blackmail her.
She stressed that her step daughter’s ‘Campaign of Calumny’ against her started after she asked for the statement of the Access bank which the donations for the ailing actor was made, following some suspicious movements noticed on the account.
She wrote in part,
“I do not have access to the main Access bank account where people make donations. It is being secretly controlled by Jazmine yet she is cooking up all kinds of lies and propaganda against me to keep absolute control of that account. How she manipulated her way and took control of that account is a story for another day.” Although Jasmine has remained silent on the matter, suggesting that the actor’s son, Daniel Okafor speaks.
“I do not want to be involved with the online drama, at least not yet. I am more concerned for daddy’s well-being,” she said.Regarding the situation, Daniel revealed that the stepdaughter does not have access to the account since he is its signatory. He emphasized that Stella Maris is his stepmother and chose not to provide additional details about his biological mother.
He said,
“My name is Daniel Okafor; I am John Okafor’s second son. “There is no truth in what Stella Maris has been sharing online. Jasmine does not have access to that account; I have access to it. I am the signatory to the account and my father’s next of kin“She is my stepmother. My mother is not around at the moment.”
