Polaris Bank recently concluded its nationwide financial literacy initiative with a highly impactful session at Government Day Secondary School, Pantami, Gombe State, the designated school of its MD/CEO. This final event marked the culmination of the Bank’s activities to commemorate World Savings Day 2024.
The initiative, which began on October 28, 2024, aimed to instill a culture of saving and financial responsibility among young Nigerians. Over the course of the program, Polaris Bank reached schools across all 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), engaging thousands of students with tailored lessons on savings and personal finance.
The grand finale, held on November 14, 2024, was a memorable session featuring interactive discussions, practical demonstrations, and real-world examples designed to inspire students to develop prudent financial habits early in life.
Speaking at the event, Aliyu Baba Adamu, Group Head, North East, who represented the MD/CEO of Polaris Bank, emphasized the importance of financial literacy in fostering a more informed and financially responsible society. “Through this program, we aim to empower young Nigerians with the knowledge and skills needed to make sound financial decisions,” he noted.
He further explained that the initiative reflects Polaris Bank’s commitment to bridging the financial literacy gap in the country while supporting Nigeria’s broader goals of financial inclusion, economic growth, and sustainability.
The Principal of Government Day Secondary School, Mal. Muhammad Saje Daudu, expressed gratitude for the Bank’s efforts in enlightening the students.
He stated, “This initiative has given our students invaluable insights into the importance of savings and financial discipline. We are deeply grateful to Polaris Bank for investing in the financial education of our youth and shaping their future positively.”
