Popular Yoruba actress and comedian Kudirat Abeniade, popularly known as Mama No Network, has been named Chieftain of Ijebuland.
The Yoruba actress announced on Instagram that she has been conferred with the title Yeye Owu Ojuwo of Ijebuland.
Videos from the ceremony emerged showing the actress glowing with joy and excitement as she celebrated with her kin.
Born to a Muslim father and a mother of the Cherubim and Seraphim faith, Kudirat’s upbringing was marked by diversity and challenges. She is a native of Olisa in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
The actress has been in the Industry for about 20 years. She revealed an interview that her decision to become an actress was influenced by watching movies of the late Nigerian veteran actress Folake Aremu. Kudirat started her career as a seamstress before joining a drama group in Somolu area of Lagos State called ‘Kalimantan Theatre Group’.
Kudirat has featured in dozens of movies since the launch of her career as an actress. She is popularly known for playing the role of a character with partial deafness earned her the nickname ‘Mama No Network’. She portrayed the character extremely well that people questioned whether she is truly living with the condition.
She revealed her that her mother was at first against her choice of career as she believed that people in the industry are diabolic. However, she later gave her consent and support when she persisted.
