Davido Plans 300 Million Naira Gift To Orphanages And Charity Homes

Nigerian singer David Adedeji Adeleke popularly known as Davido has announced  that he will also be donating money to orphanages and charity homes to commemorate his 32nd birthday.

In a recent development, the singer went on X to share with his fans that he would donate to orphanages and charity homes that help the young avoid drug abuse addiction. He stated that the amount would be N300 million and would release more details soon. 

Davido wrote: “Once again my birthday this year we Donating to ophanages and a charity that helps young people stay away from drug abuse & addiction. This year is N300m . Details to follow soon .” 

The multiple award-winning singer also said he will celebrate his 32nd birthday in Atlanta, the United States, which he views as his second home.

Davido was born in Atlanta, United States, and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. He made his music debut as a member of the group KB International. 

The singer had also donated the sum of N250 million to 292 orphanages in celebration of his 29th birthday back  in November 2021.

Davido is regarded as one of the most important Afrobeats artists of the 21st century and helped popularize the genre globally.

Th singer rose to fame after releasing ‘Dami Duro’, the second single from his debut studio album Omo Baba Olowo (2012), from which six additional singles ‘Back When’, ‘Ekuro’, ‘Overseas’, ‘All of You’, ‘Gbon Gbon’ and ‘Feel Alright’ were taken. In 2012, he won the Next Rated award at The Headies. 

New African magazine listed Davido as one of the 100 most-influential Africans in 2019. His third studio album ‘A Better Time’ was released on November 13, 2020, and in February 2021, he appeared on Time magazine’s Time 100 Next List.
