Following a busy year, David Adeleke professionally known as Davido is prepping up for the release of his first single of the year as he aims to wrap up 2024 on a powerful note.
The single will be Davido’s first release for the year 2024. The singer has made several guest appearances this year including on the hit remixes of BoyPee, Hyce, and Brown Joel’s ‘Ogechi’ and Kiss Daniel’s ‘Twe Twe’. Davido previewed the log drum-punctuated single at an event where guests cheered the song that is set to continue his over-a-decade run of hit singles.
Fans are set to get the highly expected collaboration between Nigerian talented musician Davido and Jamaican star YG Marley.
The multi star singer also has a song with Nigerian music sensation Omah Lay which is expected to be released soon. While there’s no date yet for the release, these songs will kick off a new era for Davido who enjoyed remarkable success with his record-breaking fourth album ‘Timeless’.
David Adeleke is a talented singer, songwriter and record producer. He is regarded as one of the most Important Afrobeats artist of the 21st century and for popularizing the genre of music globally.
In 2019 New African Magazine listed him as one the 100 most influential Africans. His third studio Album ‘A Better Time’ was released on the 13th of November 2020 and in February 2021, he appeared on Time Magazine’s Time 100 next list.
In November 2023, David Adeleke received three nominations at the 66th Anual Grammy Awards for ‘Feel’ ‘Unavailable’ and his ‘Timeless’ album. Also in January 2024, he received three nominations at the 55th NAACP Image Awards. Davido was also nominated for the Grammy’s Award in three categories. His tours include, A Good Time North American Tour( 2019-2020), WRBLO Tour (2022), Timeless North America Tour (2023)
While playing guest to American content creator Kai Cenat, Davido disclosed that his next album is ready. He said his fans should expect a couple of collaborations in what he boasted will be his best album yet.
One of Davido’s most recent guest appearances came on Angelique Kidjo’s ‘Joy’ which was submitted for the Grammy consideration for Best African Music Performance. He also appeared on Darkoo’s ‘Right Now’ alongside Jamaican star Rvssian.
