Controversial Nigerian singer, songwriter and rapper Habeeb Okikiola Badmus better known as Portable, has claimed that he has more hit songs than his colleague, Burna Boy.
The singer claimed that he wasn’t proud or boasting, he pointed out that he was a better hitmaker than the Grammy Award winner.
The father of five stated this in a video that is going viral on social media.
“I have more hit songs than Burna Boy. I’m not making empty boasts. I have hit songs like ‘Tony Montana’. Uncle Burna, I have more hits than you,” he said.
Portable reached the peak of his career after the release of his single ‘zazzuu Zeh’ and began to trend in Nigerian social media space because of it. He featured popular musicians Olamide Adedeji and Poco Lee.
The song gradually won the heart of fans and quickly grew into fans’ favourite song.Since its release on December 14, 2021, the song has amassed 6.6 million views on YouTube and is also one of the most played songs on Spotify.
The singer has grew from a street singer to a highly sought after performer. Portable had also performed at AY’s show on Easter Sunday on the 17th of April, where the Nigerian socialite E-Money handed him bundles of naira. It was the first time he was publicly spotted with E-Money, after he had sacked his former music manager Kogbagidi.
Portable has performed with other top music artists, including Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, and Small Doctor. Portable’s popularity has significantly grown. Overtime, his Instagram followers increased from 20,000 to over 500,000.
