The wife of actor John Okafor popularly known as Mr Ibu, Stella Maris Okafor has disclosed that she was manipulated to say that the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) did not help her husband.

Recall, Stella on Saturday, October 21, slammed AGN for lying about helping her husband after accusing the body of exploiting her ailing husband for the sake of chasing clout.

However, in an Interview with actor Uche Maduagwu on Monday, Stella publicly apologized to the people of AGN for all the things she said earlier.

She added that she was manipulated to say all those things about AGN as they never happened.

She said in parts.

“I need to apologise to AGN people, my people I am so sorry about all those things, I was manipulated to say all those things, yes, I was manipulated because I know when Kate Henshaw came, we were all in the ICU.”

Mr Ibu’s health struggles made the news in October when a video of the actor in an undisclosed hospital in Lagos soliciting for help was released on his official page.

In the video posted on Instagram, the actor disclosed that he needed financial support so his leg would not be amputated.

The actor’s public outcry, led to funds donations from the general public, and the  Bukola Saraki Foundation.

On October 21, it was reported that the Bukola Saraki Foundation paid the medical bills of ailing actor.

This happened after Ibu’s wife put up a video, saying that the Actors Guild of Nigeria lied about helping her husband, the statement was immediately debunked by the guild’s director of communications Kate Henshaw who insisted that the guild has been supporting Mr Ibu.

She also explained how A-list actors were tasked to help veterans struggling at old age.

Henshaw concluded by defending the guild’s position, emphasizing that Mr. Ibu’s health becomes the only focus.
