The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have confirmed the discovery of the bodies of 1,500 Hamas militants within Israeli territory. This revelation comes amid intensifying clashes between the IDF and Hamas fighters.
There are reports suggesting that the ongoing Israeli offensive into Gaza is anticipated to become increasingly brutal.
Hamas-Israel Conflict Raises Global Fears of Prolonged High Crude Prices
The IDF reports a devastating toll on both sides, with 900 Israelis having lost their lives since the commencement of the Israel-Hamas conflict. This conflict has unleashed fierce confrontations between a substantial number of Hamas militants and the Israeli military since a major incursion began last Saturday.
The IDF has solemnly released the names of 123 of its soldiers who have tragically perished during this protracted war. Additionally, it has been confirmed that a lieutenant colonel lost his life in a firefight on the northern border with Lebanon, although this incident was distinct from any confrontation with Hezbollah.
On the Palestinian side, the toll is equally grim, with reports of 687 deaths as Gaza bears the brunt of relentless air bombardments. In a retaliatory move, Israel has imposed harsh restrictions on essential supplies, including food, power, and water, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the region.
Israel Vows to “Destroy Hamas” as Death Toll Rises; U.S. Citizens Among Victims
A deeply troubling development has emerged from Hamas’s armed wing, the Qassam Brigades. They have announced their intent to execute an Israeli captive for every civilian house bombed without warning by Israeli forces.
This ominous declaration was delivered by Abu Obeida, the spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, in an audio statement released late Monday night.
Obeida claimed that the group had hitherto adhered to “Islamic instructions” by safeguarding Israeli hostages. However, he attributed their intended shift towards executing hostages to Israel’s escalation of air strikes on Gaza City.
“We have decided to put an end to this and we declare that any targeting of our people in their homes without prior warning will be regrettably faced with the execution of one of the hostages of civilians we are holding,” he said.
