Nollywood actor, Ime Bishop Umoh, better known as Okon Lagos, has stated that the banning actors from working with Adanma Luke is more of a public show of hypocrisy than social “correctness”.
Recall, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) backlisted the movie producer and actress, Adanma after actor Junior Pope and other crew members died in a boat accident.
Junior Pope was confirmed dead on Wednesday night alongside other crew members drowned in the River Niger area on their way back from the set of Another Side of Life, a movie produced by Adanma Luke.

In a statement signed by its national president Emeka Rollas on Thursday, the guild announced that Adanma Luke has been suspended from filming till further notice and no actor is allowed to work with her as a producer.
Reacting in an Instagram post, Okon Lagos described the guild’s decision as an act of hypocrisy.
The 42-year-old stated that Adanma was merely following an industry cultural precedent that was set by her predecessors and nearly everyone in Nollywood is guilty of negligence.
He wrote:
“While still in rude, bitter shock about the very tragic and excruciatingly painful passing of JNR POPE and others, please let’s mourn and honor these fallen heroes of the art responsibly. Official cancellation of ADAMMA LUKE by our industry will be a public show of hypocrisy and social “correctness”.
“It’s different and okay if people organically wish to boycott her production because of her negligence. Of course, people are livid! The Producer is merely following an industry cultural precedent set by many before her and NEARLY EVERYONE in GUILTY!!!”
