Kemi Olunloyo, a controversial media personnel has weighed into the feud between Afrobeat stars Ayodeji Balogun ‘Wizkid’ and David Adeleke ‘Davido’ adding fuel to an already intense rivalry.
The dispute between the two has drawn significant attention, especially after Wizkid’s recent sharp comments about Davido.
In his social media tirade, Wizkid not only questioned Davido’s self-proclaimed “001” status but also took aim at his circle, insinuating that the people in his circle are financially dependent on him.
Amid the tension, Kemi Olunloyo shared her thoughts via her TikTok account. In her analysis, she expressed surprise at Wizkid’s harsh comments, suggesting that he wouldn’t usually engage in such behavior unless provoked. She firmly placed the blame on Davido, signifying that he may have pushed Wizkid to his breaking point.
Kemi then introduced a new context, pointing to billionaire entrepreneur Tony Elumelu as a central figure in this unfolding saga. According to her, the root cause of Wizkid’s anger lies in Davido’s alleged interference in a performance opportunity at the prestigious 75th UBA anniversary event, organized by Tony.
She claimed that the gig was initially meant for Wizkid, but Davido allegedly took over the opportunity, which left Wizkid feeling betrayed. This perceived slight, Kemi argues, is what triggered the star’s fiery response and has since fueled the feud.
Her analysis sheds light on the deeper issues of rivalry, competition, and betrayal that are often present beneath the glitz and glamour of the Afrobeats world.
