As the adage goes, death is unavoidable. Regrettably, within an 11-month span, some prominent figures in the Nigerian entertainment industry have had their lives unexpectedly truncated under peculiar circumstances while at their peak.
These entertainers were hale and healthy and had died suddenly, throwing the music industry and their fans into mourning.

Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, 27 died in mysterious circumstances on 12 September and was buried the following day.
The death of singer sent shock waves to his fans and those who did not know him until his passing.
Mohbad leaves behind his wife Omowunmi and a son Liam who turned five months old the day his father died.
A multitude of fans, celebrities, and notable figures expressed grief and paid homage to the singer. Mohbad’s demise occurred a few months after he severed ties with Marlian Music in October 2022, citing allegations of assault and non-payment of royalties, among other issues.
Revelations about his family have also surfaced, prompting the public to cast accusatory fingers at those in his inner circle.
Oladips 
The latest incident involves the passing of the rapper Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji, widely recognized as Oladips.
The rapper’s management via his verified Instagram had announced the shocking demise in a brief statement on Wednesday.
Oladips before his sudden death had slumped and was reportedly battling for his life. The rapper’s associate Abdul Rasheed had on Tuesday night posted a disturbing video via Instagram showing the rapper looking lifeless after collapsing.
Efforts were made to revive the music artist but proved to be fruitless at the time.
Moments later, Abdul made another post, alleging that rapper’s mum stopped him from taking her son to the hospital.
It’s worth mentioning that Oladips had been actively calling for justice for Mohbad and had his picture as his Instagram profile picture. The rapper also recently experienced the loss of his father.
Adding to the distressing circumstances, his death comes just weeks after the release of his song ‘Die Young,’ leaving fans and the public pondering whether he had an inkling of what was to unfold.
