Family of renowned Nigerian playwright and Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka, on Tuesday revealed that his older sister, Tinuola Aina, has peacefully passed away at the age of 90.
According to the statement, she breathed her last on November 7, 2023.
The family disclosed that the commemoration of Tinuola Aina’s life will commence with a service of songs scheduled for Thursday, December 7, in Lagos. The two-day funeral rites will draw to a close on Friday, December 8, concluding with a private interment in Lagos.

Born on April 29, 1933, Tinuola Aina was the eldest among seven siblings.
Her parents, Mr. Samuel Ayodele Soyinka, a school teacher, and Mrs. Grace Eniola Soyinka (neé Harrison), a trader-homemaker, welcomed her into the world at Ake Vicarage, Abeokuta.
