Nigerian critic, activist and influencer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, stormed the Lagos Island market during his visit to the state.
Recently, the activist announced arrival in Lagos for his court case with human rights lawyer Femi Falana and his son, Folarin ‘Falz’ Falana which was later adjourned to January 2025.
On September 26, 2024, Falana & Falana Chambers issued a 24-hour ultimatum to Otse via a letter, demanding an immediate retraction and apology for allegedly defamatory statements against Femi Falana, made on his Instagram post.
In a previous video posted on his Instagram page, VeryDarkMan noted that he will not apologize, saying that the video he posted was to expose corruption in Nigeria, urging the Falanas to clear their names.
“That’s what I exposed. But sadly, some people, Falana and Falz, whose names were mentioned, said I should have informed them before posting such things about them. They asked me to apologize. I don’t see anything wrong with what I did, so I’m not apologizing to anybody. They should clear their name”. He had said,
VeryDarkMan further stated “I have tried to respect them, but it didn’t work because I went to prostrate for Falana, yet they insisted that I must go and apologize. Now it is time for the court hearing, and heaven won’t fall. Tomorrow, if I hear their names again, I will post it. I don’t fear anybody’s father. I don’t want a country where, when it is someone’s time, we should keep quiet.”
VeryDarkMan took to his Instagram page to share a new video of himself mingling with the crowd in Lagos after storming the Lagos Island market.
A large crowd of young men was seen surrounding VeryDarkMan in a video as he walked into the market. At one point, a fight broke out between some of the men, and he tried to make peace between them.
Several people tried to take photos and videos with him as he walked down the market. The activist shared the video and accompanied it with a caption.
“GOD KNOWS THE LOVE ISNT PAID FOR…GOD BLESS THE RATELS WORLD WIDE….NO BE BY POWER NA GOD(BORN N BRED ON THE STREET…. @dkokopee na man you be.” He wrote.
