The Ogun State Police Command has said that TikToker Mirabel was not arrested over the alleged rape case involving her.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, Mirabel went to the Ibafo Police Division on Tuesday, February 17, to report the alleged sexual assault. After meeting with the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), she was taken to the hospital because she was not in a stable condition.
Babaseyi explained that Mirabel is currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). He said her health is the police’s main concern for now. The investigation will continue fully once she becomes stable.
The police said the alleged incident happened in Ogijo, a community located between Ogun and Lagos states. They made it clear that Mirabel was not arrested but is being treated as a victim who reported a crime.
The command also called on anyone with useful information to come forward to help with the investigation. The police promised to rely on evidence before taking any action.
Babaseyi stated that if the allegation is proven to be true, the suspect will be arrested and charged in court. However, he added that the law also deals with cases where false information is given.
He advised the public not to jump to conclusions based on emotions, assuring that the police will carefully investigate the matter and reach a fair decision based on facts.
