The former Deputy Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon Ikechukwu Harford Oseke, is dead, he was 64 years old.
Oseke, who celebrated his last birthday on July 27, was said to have collapsed during his morning routine exercise at Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka.
Sources told Top Society that the former lawmaker was formally pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, where he was rushed to for medical attention by sports enthusiasts, and sympathisers. His body has been deposited at Apex Medical Centre in Awka.
He was born in 1960, Oseke, who hailed from Umuawulu in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, represented Awka South 2 at the State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2019 under the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
He, however, contested to represent Awka North and Awka South Federal House constituency in the House of Representatives primary under APGA but lost to late Anayo Nnebe, who became the APGA standard bearer, who eventually lost in the election to the Peoples Democratic Party PDP candidate, Hon. Samuel Onwuas.
Oseke, who was into freight forwarding industry in Port Harcourt and importation of fishing feeds, read law and recently completed a Ph.D. in Public Administration.
He was survived by wife, children and others relatives.
