Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, has confirmed that the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has been served with a letter of allegation.

This revelation comes amidst a backdrop of growing tensions and threats to the lives of lawmakers in the State Assembly.
Ondo Deputy Aiyedatiwa Served Allegation Letter by Assembly
Speaker Oladiji has expressed grave concerns over the safety of himself and 25 other lawmakers, as they claim to be facing threats from unidentified individuals since the initiation of the impeachment proceedings. In a press conference held at his office in Akure, Speaker Oladiji called upon security agencies to intervene urgently, citing that these threats have escalated to a dangerous level.
According to Oladiji, the impeachment allegation service officially took effect from last week Wednesday, and he had been receiving numerous calls from unknown numbers for over three days. Matters took a disturbing turn when a mysterious fetish object was discovered in front of his official lodge, compelling him to take his concerns public.
The Speaker firmly believes that these threats are directly connected to the impeachment proceedings initiated against Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. The situation has intensified, as it took several days for the letter of allegation to reach Oladiji’s office, finally arriving at exactly 3:16 pm on Monday. This delay in serving the letter only added to the already fraught atmosphere surrounding the proceedings.
“I have been receiving strange calls since the day we began the impeachment notice but I didn’t count them as something serious.

“It was when I saw a strange object placed in front of my official lodge today that I had to raise the alarm.
“I believe the threat is connected to the deputy governor’s impeachment notice as they see me as the arrowhead.
“I am not alone on this as some members of the assembly are also receiving threats, especially members from Ilaje who have been threatened by some people not to come home to Ilaje.
Addressing the question of whether external influences are exerting pressure on him to take specific actions, the Speaker stated.
“I am not under any pressure. Though some people are sending me messages to suppress me, we will do what is right under the law”.
“We discovered that a sacrifice was placed in the lodge. Aside that, I have been receiving strange calls from strange people threatening my life and other members. There have been a lot of pressure on me.
“I am using the medium to tell the world that my life is under threat. I call on the security operatives to checkmate these people who have been threatening my life and other members,” Oladiji said.
