Governor of Nasarawa State, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, and the coordinator of traditional rulers in the South West, Oba Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo, the Oore of Otun Ekiti, have commended the publisher of Top Society Magazine, Mr Isaac Ifeanyichukwu Agwazim, for his doggedness and his commitment in sustaining the magazine despite challenges.
They also appreciated him for complimenting government efforts to reduce unemployment by creating employment opportunities.
Speaking at the unveiling of the magazine, which was a special edition to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Magazine/Online publication and the giving of awards to Nigerians who have made tremendous impact in their chosen field, Nasarawa State Governor Engineer Sule having listened to the humble beginning the publisher started from, and the challenges he faced and was able to surmount it, he said all men have good ideas but, some give up when they face challenges, but commended Mr. Agwazim for not giving up.
The governor who was represented by his Director of General Strategic Communication Mr. Yakubu Lamai, said, “Ifeanyi started from a dark beginning, he fell into the gutter with his maiden publication, with most of the publication destroyed, but he never gave up. This tells all of us that we can start somewhere and get something we can turn around, we can pull down a mountain to maintain a fortune.
“He is an example for other people to hold on to their dreams tenaciously; we all, the people from Nasarawa State, will continue to support Top Society Magazine,” He said.
The Oore of Otun Ekiti Oba Adeagbo said he appreciated Mr Isaac Ifeanyichukwu Agwazim’s humble beginning and that the magazine and online publication are products of destiny, just as he commended him for his contribution to creating employment opportunities for people, which he said goes a long way in complimenting government effort at creating employment opportunities.
“I appreciate your humble beginning. Anybody can start from a humble beginning and get to a greater height. Your publication is a product of destiny; let’s encourage this young man. You are an entrepreneur, and you are paying salaries to your staff. With this effort, you are helping the government reduce the unemployment rate in the country.”
Mr. Agwazim, in his remarks during the unveiling of the publication, shared that he was able to get the maiden edition of the magazine to the newsstand through sheer determination and unwavering focus on his goal.
He further explained that the process of getting the maiden edition of the publication to the readers was fraught with numerous challenges.
Agwazim shared that he remained undeterred despite his financial struggles to raise money for the publication.
He recounted a particularly challenging incident when, on the day he went to collect the magazine from the printer, he fell into a drainage, and several copies of the publication were damaged.
However, he did not let this setback discourage him, and his ability to overcome this challenge was a significant milestone in the publication’s journey to celebrating its 10th year of existence.
