The Ondo State House Assembly has officially confirmed the appointment of interim management committee chairmen and vice-chairmen for all 18 local government areas and 33 Local Council Development Areas in the state.

The confirmed appointees consist of 51 chairmen and 51 vice-chairmen.


This confirmation follows the submission and thorough consideration of a report by the House Committee on Selection, which conducted screenings of the appointees. The Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, had previously submitted a request to the assembly for the confirmation of these appointments.
During the submission of the report, Deputy Speaker Prince Abayomi Akinruntan expressed confidence in the nominees, stating that they were found fit for their nominated positions.
Speaker Oladiji, addressing the parliament, emphasized the necessity of appointing interim management committees to oversee the local government areas and development areas following the expiration of the tenures of elected chairmen.
Speaker Oladiji charged the confirmed committees to prioritize service delivery, avoid corruption, and contribute to the development of their respective areas and the state as a whole.


In response to the confirmation, Mr. Jimoh Adebayo, speaking on behalf of the interim management committees, expressed gratitude to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for the opportunity to serve. He pledged unalloyed support to the administration, highlighting the commitment to the development of Ondo State.
